El Kartel in Japan
For six years El Kartel has been building routes in Japan, and we go back again and again to know every valley, town and ryokan we send people to.

We know Japan by its small roads: the finest stretch of the Nakasendo, the hour when Takayama’s morning market is still quiet, and the hotel facing Mount Fuji where you see it from the window.
Every route is built by hand, at the pace of whoever is going: a couple who want to drive through the mountains, a family with children waiting for Universal, or travellers who keep Shabbat and need it planned ahead. The team is led by Kfir Golshany, who founded El Kartel.
And on the ground you are not alone: Hebrew-speaking guides in Kyoto and Tokyo, a driver who takes the car round the Alps, and suitcases waiting at the next hotel.
What that means for you
A route built for you
From 14 to 30 days, at your pace, with the reason for every stop.
Someone who has been there
Advice on where to sleep, eat and look, from experience, not a catalogue.
